One Day, Two Activities: When an Antalya Rafting and Jeep Combo Is the Better Buy

A combination day puts white water and off-road tracks on one date, and it is genuinely worth it when your week has only one free day left or when the party is split between people who want a river and people who want the mountains. What you trade for the second activity is the unhurried pace of a full mountain day. Of the five resort belts on the Antalya coast only the Side belt has such a day at all — four departures, from Side, Evrenseki, Kumköy and Manavgat hotels — so from Belek, Alanya, the Antalya city belt or Kemer the question does not arise.

What a combination day actually is

It is one reservation, one morning pickup and one bill covering two activities: a run on the river with a full kit of helmet, paddle and life jacket, and an open 4x4 stage on unsurfaced tracks. Guiding runs through both halves and lunch is inside the price. On the Side and Evrenseki departures the records name jeeps for the transfer itself, which is the point: the jeeps are part of the day rather than a way of getting to it.

It is also the only shape in which two activities are sold together here. Combinations with quads, with boat trips or with theme parks do not exist on this brand, so if you have seen one advertised, it is somebody else's product. The combo page for the coast lists the four real ones and nothing beyond them.

The four that exist, and where they start

All four run from the eastern belt, and the difference between them is the pickup point rather than the character of the day.

The Side departure is the compact one at approximately seven hours; the other three run approximately nine, because they add a longer off-road stage before or after the water. All of them start with a morning collection from the hotel gate.

  • From Side hotels — approximately seven hours, jeep transfer both ways
  • From Evrenseki — approximately nine hours, early open-top jeep pickup, riverbeds and an ancient Roman bridge on the off-road stage
  • From Kumköy — approximately nine hours, Grade II to III rapids, forests and mountain villages, a swim stop and a grilled riverside lunch
  • From Manavgat — approximately nine hours, off-road through the Taurus and a full run on the river

When the combination is the better buy

The strongest case is arithmetic on days rather than on money. If one date is all your week can spare, a combination day is the only way to come home having done both, and the Side rafting and jeep combo is built for exactly that: a compact day that still contains a river and a mountain track.

The second case is a divided party. Teenagers who want the rapids and adults who want the tracks stop negotiating, because both get their half. The third is repetition: guests who already did a mountain day earlier in the week and want the river without giving up the open jeep on the way to it.

When it is not

If what you want is the mountain day itself — the long lunch beside the water, the swim stop, time at the viewpoints — the combination is the wrong purchase. Two activities in one day means each is given the time it needs and no more, and the parts of a jeep safari that guests remember most fondly are usually the slow parts. It is worth reading how the two compare when they are bought separately: jeep safari against rafting is set out on its own page with neither one flattered.

It is also wrong if someone in the party cannot raft. Rough tracks are already not recommended for pregnant guests or anyone with back or neck trouble, and a river adds its own requirements on top. And it is simply unavailable if your hotel is outside the Side belt — there is no combination departure from the other four belts, and we do not pretend otherwise.

What is inside the price and what is not

Transfers, safety equipment, guiding and lunch are inside every one of the four. The safety kit is the standard river set — helmet, paddle, life jacket — and the two nine-hour departures from Evrenseki and Kumköy carry cover for the activity in their records as well.

Drinks are excluded on all four, including at lunch, and photo or video shot by the team is a separate purchase. Some of these departures list a zipline or another add-on as an extra rather than as part of the price; nothing about the booked programme depends on taking one.

  • Included: two-way transfer, the river stage with full kit, guiding, lunch
  • Excluded: drinks, professional photo and video, personal spending
  • Outside the price: optional add-ons such as a zipline

The age bands are not the same as the jeep day

This trips people up more often than the price does. On the four combination departures the adult band starts at 12, the child band covers 4 to 11, and infants up to 3 travel free. On the five plain jeep safaris the child band runs to 12 and the adult band begins at 13.

So a twelve-year-old is a child on the mountain day and an adult on the combination day. Check which band your family falls into before comparing anything, because otherwise you are comparing two different sets of tickets.

How the day feels from the inside

Expect to be wet twice over: once from the river, and once from the water games that belong to the jeep stage in summer. Bring a change of clothes, a towel and closed shoes you do not mind ruining, and keep your phone in something sealed.

Expect a longer day than a plain mountain outing unless you take the Side version — the length of the plain jeep day is published separately, and the three nine-hour combinations run notably beyond it. If the group includes small children, that difference is the thing to weigh, not the second activity.

Questions

Questions about this tour

Can we book a rafting and jeep combination from Belek or Alanya?
No. All four combination departures collect on the Side belt — Side hotels, Evrenseki, Kumköy and Manavgat. Guests elsewhere take the plain jeep safari for their own belt.
How long is a combination day?
Approximately seven hours from Side hotels and approximately nine from Evrenseki, Kumköy and Manavgat, all starting with a morning pickup at the hotel gate.
Is the rafting suitable for someone who has never done it?
The Kumköy record describes Grade II to III water, and full equipment and guiding are included. Tell the team about any back or neck trouble before you set out.
Are there combinations with quad bikes or a boat trip?
Not on this brand. Only the four rafting and jeep departures exist; anything else advertised as a combination belongs to another operator.
Do the combinations use the same age bands as the jeep safari?
No. On the combinations the adult band starts at 12 and children are 4 to 11; on the plain jeep days children are 4 to 12 and adults 13 and over.
Is lunch included on the combination day?
Yes, on all four. Drinks are not included with it, and professional photo or video is a separate purchase.
