The jeep day
A jeep safari is the mountains from the passenger seat of an open-top 4x4. The convoy leaves the resort belt in the morning, each jeep with a professional driver and 8-10 guests, and climbs into the Taurus foothills: dusty tracks, shallow river crossings, viewpoints over green valleys, a village stop, lunch beside running water. In summer the jeeps fight with water and you get wet; in winter the fleet switches to covered jeeps. Guests never drive.
The day runs approximately 7 hours from the Antalya, Belek and Kemer belts and approximately 8 hours from Side and Alanya. Pickup is at the main entrance of your hotel in the morning, with the exact time confirmed after booking. The rafting day
Our sister operation's rafting day does not happen in a resort either. Guests are collected from Belek, Kadriye and Boğazkent and driven inland to a canyon national park in the Taurus north-east of the Belek strip, where the rafting runs on the Köprüçay river past pine-clad cliffs and a Roman-era bridge, with swim and splash stops in calm pools along the way.
A professional guide travels in every raft and steers it; you paddle. Helmet, life jacket, paddle and wetsuit are supplied, lunch is an open buffet by the river, and local accident insurance covers the activity. Drinks, river photos and anything bought at the canyon are paid on the day. The day runs approximately 8 hours door to door and is sold all year, every day of the week. Who each day suits
Swimming ability is not required for the rafting day, and the reason matters: the life jacket is worn throughout and a guide steers every boat. Guests who cannot swim are asked to say so at booking so the guide knows before the boats push off. Rafting is suitable from age 7, and it is not recommended for pregnant guests or anyone with back or heart problems or recent surgery.
The jeep day has its own health note: rough tracks are not recommended for pregnant guests or guests with back or neck problems. Children aged 4-12 pay the child rate shown in the booking form, infants aged 0-3 travel free, and every child must be accompanied by an adult. A family with a small child under seven therefore has the jeep open to it and the rafting not yet.
Both days get you wet. On the jeep it is water fights and crossings, and a change of clothes is enough; on the river it is the river, and the wetsuit is part of the kit.
What you actually do all day
The honest difference is effort. On the jeep you hold on, look, get splashed, walk around a village and sit down to lunch; the driver does the rest. On the raft you paddle when the guide says paddle, brace through the white water, swim in the calm pools and climb back in. One is a day of watching the mountains go by; the other is a day of working the river with a team of strangers who become a crew by lunch.
The third option: rafting and jeep in one day
From the Side belt the two elements are sold together as real combined days: a jeep transfer and off-road section, then the rafting, then lunch by the river. There are four such departures, from Side, Evrenseki, Kumköy and Manavgat hotels, and the rafting and jeep combo page sets them out with what each includes, the age bands and the fares.
The Side combo is the shorter of the four at approximately 7 hours; the Evrenseki, Kumköy and Manavgat combos run approximately 9 hours and carry a fuller jeep section. A guest in Side who cannot decide between the two elements can simply book the Side rafting and jeep combo day and have both.
What does not exist is a combined day from Belek, Antalya, Kemer or Alanya. A guest on those belts chooses one element per day: the jeep departure from their own belt, or the rafting day collected from the Belek strip.
Where each collects
The jeep safari has five departures, one per resort belt, and your hotel decides which one; the page on which jeep day belongs to your hotel gives the rule and the five belts side by side. Kemer and Alanya have their own jeep departures.
The rafting day collects from Belek, Kadriye and Boğazkent; a hotel elsewhere is answered on WhatsApp rather than promised on a page. The combined days collect only from Side, Evrenseki, Kumköy and Manavgat. A Side guest who wants the jeep alone has the jeep departure from Side, the full mountain day this belt has of its own.
Terms, and the price question
The jeep day, the rafting day and the combined day stand on identical terms: a free booking, nothing prepaid, no card online, euros on the day, and a free release up to 24 hours out.
