Your day begins with a friendly morning pickup from your Kumkoy hotel, where our air-conditioned minibus is already waiting to whisk you inland. As the coastal resorts fade behind you, the road climbs toward the Taurus Mountains and the scenery shifts to fragrant pine forests, tumbling streams and tiny stone villages. By the time you reach the Koprulu Canyon National Park, the air is cooler and noticeably fresher, and the excitement of a full day of adventure is already building.
At the rafting base you are kitted out with a helmet, life jacket and paddle before your English-speaking guide runs through the safety briefing, then it is straight into the rubber raft for roughly 14 kilometres of Grade II-III rapids on the icy Koprulu River. You paddle hard through bubbling chutes, drift beneath the soaring walls of the canyon and pass under the 2,000-year-old Roman Oluk Bridge, with a swim stop in the turquoise pools to cool off. Once you are dry, the second half of the day kicks in as you climb aboard an open 4x4 and roar off-road, kicking up dust through forest tracks, splashing through shallow fords and rolling into a hillside village for sweeping views over the valley.
Between the two adventures you settle in at a shaded riverside restaurant for a hearty grilled lunch of chicken, fresh salads and local bread, with the sound of the rushing water beside you and time to relax in your wet kit. After lunch and the final stretch of the jeep route, our vehicle carries you comfortably back down the mountain to your Kumkoy hotel by late afternoon, tired, sun-kissed and grinning. Two of Antalya's greatest outdoor thrills in a single unforgettable day, this is the combo that will have you talking long after your holiday ends.
